At Counseling Associates of Metropolitan Washington,
our process is both collaborative and goal-oriented. Trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and other therapeutic approaches, our clinicians draw on a variety of theories and methodologies to suit each client’s individual needs and help you achieve your goals. We provide support and practical help so clients can address current life challenges and long-standing issues.

We work closely with our clients to understand and analyze the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. These three aspects of the self are intricately connected and small changes in one area lead to significant changes in other areas. We will help you identify and challenge unproductive thought patterns to bring about improved mood and a greater sense of well-being. Transition can be difficult, but with encouragement and support, our clients adjust — and thrive — as they navigate periods of significant change.
Counseling Associates of Metropolitan Washington
provides services to individuals, couples and families. We also offer support groups to help our clients manage a range of life transitions from career change to new motherhood to empty nest.
